Yulonda ‘Lumbo’ Thomas, 52, of Warren, passed away May 25, 2024. Born November 24, 1971, to the late Phyllis Hines and Kenneth Lewings.
Yulonda confessed her faith in Christ and was baptized at an early age. She was a faithful member of Weary Rest Missionary Baptist Church in Hermitage, AR., where she served as the Church Secretary until her health failed. She held several jobs that allowed her to work and share the love she possessed. Her most recent career path allowed her to be a Nutritional Supervisor for the Hermitage School District, or as the students would call her, ‘the lunch lady.’
Yulonda was an exceptional daughter, sister, ‘lunch lady’, co-worker, caregiver, confidant, secretary, youth leader and friend. However, anyone can tell you that her favorite title was Mother of 5.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Phyllis & Earl Hines, Kenneth Lewings; daughter-in-law, Shereka Gant-Hargraves; grandson, Dakarius Davis and a special friend Cynthia Broughton.
She is survived by her children, Aviva Thomas, LaKrystal Thomas, Donald Hargraves IV, Darcarus Edington, Jemmerio Thomas; sisters, Natasha Hampton, Monica Hampton; aunt, Vernita Kent; uncle, Roy Thomas (Marilyn), grandchildren, Dakamron Davis, Aiden Thomas, Wynter Holland, Alaina Green, Karson Edwards, Aaliyah Jones, Ayla Hargraves, Polo Edington, A’Raeyah Newkirk, JaCari Thomas, Amaris Baker; nephew, Travious Rogers; nieces, Ajasia Davis, Myunna Price; special friends, Pretrescia Grubbs, Shandra Broughton, Pamala Christian; a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral service was held June 8 at Weary Rest Missionary Baptist Church, Marsden. Arrangements by Hammons Funeral Home.
