LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – The Arkansas Razorbacks opened their 2024 football season with an overwhelming 70-0 victory over Arkansas-Pine Bluff (UAPB) at War Memorial Stadium. The win showcased the Razorbacks’ dominance on both sides of the ball, setting multiple records and demonstrating the team’s readiness for the season ahead.
Arkansas scored on all 10 of their offensive drives, a feat that marks the most consecutive drives with a touchdown in program history. The team’s previous record of six consecutive touchdown drives, set in 2004, was shattered as the Razorbacks methodically dismantled the Golden Lions.
Running back Ja’Quinden Jackson set the tone early, racking up 101 yards and two touchdowns on just eight carries in the first half. Jackson’s performance marked his sixth career 100-yard rushing game and his fourth multi-touchdown performance.
Quarterback Taylen Green completed 16 of 23 passes for 229 yards and two touchdowns while adding 58 yards and a touchdown on the ground. His efforts made him just the third quarterback in Arkansas history to pass and rush for multiple touchdowns in a season opener.
The Razorbacks’ defense was equally impressive, holding UAPB scoreless for the entire game. This shutout was Arkansas’ first since 2018 and only the second time in 25 seasons that the Razorbacks opened with a shutout victory. The defense, led by key players such as Eric Gregory and Nico Davillier, forced multiple turnovers and limited the Golden Lions to minimal offensive yardage.
Wide receiver Isaac TeSlaa extended his streak of consecutive games with a reception to 26, catching passes in crucial moments to keep the Razorbacks’ drives alive.
The Razorbacks’ 70 points were the most in a season opener since a 100-0 victory over Missouri State in 1911, and they now hold an all-time record of 154-62-4 at War Memorial Stadium.
Arkansas will look to carry this momentum into their next game against Oklahoma State.
