In Girls Singles, Presley Reep and Jaycee Courtney each secured commanding 6-0 victories, demonstrating their precision and dominance on the court. The doubles teams of Anna Arroyo/Ava Denton and Natalee Harmon/Naideth Pahuamba mirrored this success, also winning 6-0, showing strong teamwork and coordination.
The Boys Singles saw Braylen Watson take a 6-1 win, while Caper Groves earned a perfect 6-0 victory. In Boys Doubles, David Rawls and Angel Herron faced a tougher challenge but ultimately prevailed with a 7-5 win, rounding off a day of undefeated match play for the Tennis Jacks.
Coach Micah Richey expressed pride in his team’s resilience, particularly given the tough conditions. “I was very proud of how hard we played despite several of the players playing in a very long and hot match the previous day. I was most pleased with the turnout. We had many fans ranging from students, family members of players, teachers, and administration. It was a relief to see how much the support for Warren Tennis has grown. Everybody that comes out and supports us plays a very large part in our individual and team successes,” said Coach Richey.
Saline River Tennis Player of the Week honors go to Caper Groves, who excelled in his match with a 6-0 win. Groves, who began playing tennis last season, has shown tremendous growth as a player. Coach Richey says he is highly coachable and a dedicated student. Caper’s hard work is paying off on the court. Congratulations, Caper!
