Warren Tennis Opens Season with a Strong Performance Against Hampton

HAMPTON, Ark. – The Warren Lumberjack tennis team started their season with an impressive showing against Hampton on Monday, marking a strong start under the leadership of Head Coach Micah Richey. The match featured notable victories from both the boys’ and girls’ singles and doubles players, reflecting the hard work and dedication put in during the off-season.

Coach Richey expressed his pride in the team’s performance, particularly highlighting the growth and improvement among both seasoned and beginner players. “My returning and ranked players showed a huge amount of growth in their game last night,” Richey said. “The beginner players showed a lot of improvement from when they started at the beginning of the summer. They have all worked extremely hard and pushed themselves to be better, and it’s something I am extremely proud of. We have 28 players this year and are excited about the growth of Warren tennis.”

Saline River Chronicle Tennis Player of the Week: Naideth Pahuamba

First-year player Naideth Pahuamba was named the Saline River Chronicle Tennis Player of the Week for her remarkable performance in her debut match. Having never picked up a tennis racquet before this summer, Naideth has demonstrated incredible progress, working diligently during and outside of practices to compete with ranked players. In her first-ever match, Naideth faced Hampton’s third-best singles player and secured a victory in extra sets, showcasing her hard work and dedication. “She is a great example of hard work and dedication paying off,” added Richey.

Girls’ Doubles:

  • Ava Denton/Anna Arroyo: 6-3
