Week zero of the Arkansas High School Football season is in the books, with most teams having already taken to the field. For those that haven’t, the action begins this Friday, September 6. Here’s a look at the teams in South-Central and South-East Arkansas as they either kick off their season this week or continue their campaign.
Camden Fairview at El Dorado – Saline River Sports Game of the Week
El Dorado, after a narrow 21-14 loss to a talented LR Christian team last week, will be looking to rebound as they host Camden Fairview. Fairview is coming off a solid 40-25 win over Arkadelphia and will be eager to keep up their momentum.
CAC at Stuttgart
CAC faces a tough road test at Stuttgart after suffering a 31-7 defeat at the hands of DeWitt last week. Stuttgart, on the other hand, defeated Lonoke by 11 points and will be no pushover for CAC as they look to build on their early success.
DeWitt at Jacksonville
DeWitt hopes to keep up the momentum from their dominant 31-7 victory over CAC as they travel to Jacksonville, a team from the 5A Central Conference.
Drew Central at England
Dumas at Star City
Star City Head Coach Chris Norton, a Warren alum(Class of 2006), will make his debut as head coach for the Bulldogs as they face Dumas in the season opener for both teams.
Episcopal at Bearden
Fordyce at Magnet Cove
Harmony Grove-Ouachita County at Rison
Harmony Grove-Ouachita County is coming off an impressive 30-20 road win at Junction City and will look to continue their strong start as they travel to face Rison, who will be playing their season opener after defeating Monticello in a scrimmage two weeks ago.
Hampton at Forman
Helana hosting Earle
Junction City at Carlisle
Junction City travels to Carlisle after a tough loss last week, eager to bounce back in week one.
McGehee at Hamburg
McGehee, who faced a strong Warren team in a scrimmage a couple of weeks ago, is hoping to pull off a win on the road against Conference 8-4A’s Hamburg in the season opener for both teams.

White Hall at Warren
Warren, coming off a narrow loss to 5A Greenbrier by just a touchdown last week, will look to bounce back as they host White Hall. Warren’s sophomore quarterback, Jackson Denton, was sidelined early last week due to a leg injury. Senior Cam Burks stepped in, going 11 of 21 with 336 yards passing and 3 touchdowns. White Hall, coming off a loss to Kevin Kelley’s Sheridan Yellowjackets, will be looking to find their footing after a tough week zero.
