Randy Gates, age 71 of Moro Bay, AR passed away on Thursday, September 12, 2024 at UAMS in Little Rock, AR. He was born on June 20, 1953 in Warren, AR to the late Jimmy Gates and Bernice Reynolds Gates. He was a member of Landmark Missionary Baptist Church and worked as a river pilot on the Moro Bay ferry and retired from the Arkansas State Highway Department. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing and being on the water, but most of all he loved his family.
Survivors include his wife Debbie Jenkins Gates of Moro Bay, AR; sons, Brandon Gates and wife Chasity of El Dorado, AR and Garett Gates and wife Kayla of Warren, AR; daughter, Sydney Kidwell and husband BJ of Sterlington, LA; sister, Judy Gates of Moro Bay, AR and grandchildren, Luke Gates, Makenzie Gates, Madilyn Gates, Finn Kidwell, Remi Kidwell and Mia Kidwell.
Funeral service was held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, September 15, 2024 at Landmark Missionary Baptist Church. Burial was in Gravelridge Cemetery by Frazer’s Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Landmark Missionary Baptist Church or Gravelridge Cemetery.
