UAM Women’s Golf Finishes Tenth in NSU Women’s Classic

MUSKOGEE, Okla. – The University of Arkansas at Monticello Women’s Golf Team finished Tenth at the Muskogee Country Club in Muskogee, Oklahoma on Tuesday afternoon. The Blossoms combined for a two-round team score of 45-over par (613).

Rogers State took home the title with a final team score of 5-over par 573. The Blossoms followed Harding, 2023-24 GAC Champion Henderson State, Southwestern Oklahoma State, Arkansas Tech, Southern Arkansas, and Oklahoma Baptist.

Incoming Freshman Tori Milton led the Blossoms with a final tournament total of 1-over par, tying for sixth place.

Sophomore Mekdes Rozas and Senior Shehna Akbary both finished the Women’s Classic tied for 37th, 11-over par (153). Rozas shot a second round at 8-over par (79), while Akbary fired a final round 5-over par (76).

Sophomore Natalie Van Dort came out the second round shooting a 77 (+6), this score would tie her for 44th place with a two-round score of 154 (+12).

Sophomore Ximena Paz completed the scoring for the Blossoms with a final round total of 81 (+10), tying her at 61st place with a combined score of, 158 (+16).

Up next, the Blossoms head to Edmond, Oklahoma for the Grace Shin Invitational at Kickingbird Golf Club, hosted by the University of Central Oklahoma. The opening round of the tournament tees off on Monday, Oct. 7.
