The deadline to register for the upcoming November General Election is quickly approaching. If you haven’t registered yet, you have until Monday, October 7, to submit your voter registration form. The General Election and Nonpartisan Runoff Election will take place on November 5.
Early voting will kick off on October 21, with polls open from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on weekdays and from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Saturdays. Early voting will close at 5:00 p.m. on the Monday just before the election.
Voting is an essential part of democracy, giving Arkansans the opportunity to voice their opinions on the direction of their government. Through voting, citizens can express their views on key issues and ensure their values are reflected in leadership decisions.
Submitting your voter registration form at a state agency, a voter registration drive, or through the U.S. Postal Service doesn’t guarantee your registration is complete. It’s important to follow up on your registration status just like you would with any other important personal matter. You’ll know you’re officially registered once you receive confirmation from your county clerk. Don’t hesitate to call your local clerk to check on the status of your registration, or visit www.voterview.org to verify your details online.
You can find voter registration applications at sos.arkansas.gov. If you’re registering by mail, be sure to provide your driver’s license number or the last four digits of your Social Security number on your application. If you don’t have either, simply check the box on the form to indicate this.
Make sure to verify your registration and start preparing to vote!
