WARREN, Ark. – The Warren High School JROTC is calling on the community to help support their cadets through a fundraising campaign aimed at raising $8,000. The funds will go toward competitions in drill, archery, color guard, and physical fitness, all of which are integral to developing leadership, discipline, and teamwork among students. The program’s mission focuses on preparing students for future leadership roles by instilling personal responsibility and a commitment to community service.
Community members can contribute through direct donations, with options starting at $25, or by purchasing custom Warren JROTC spirit gear, such as shirts and hats, which help fund the cadets’ activities. The initiative also welcomes businesses to become corporate sponsors, with contributions of at least $250. So far, the campaign has raised $345, but more support is needed to ensure that the cadets can participate fully in their upcoming competitions and service projects.
The JROTC program at Warren High School is more than just a military-based curriculum; it is a structured program designed to equip students with essential life skills. Through participation in competitions and community service, cadets learn the values of perseverance, leadership, and teamwork. The lessons they gain prepare them not only for potential military service but also for careers in a variety of fields, as they learn to handle responsibility and make decisions under pressure.
Community support is crucial for the program to continue its mission of creating well-rounded, civic-minded leaders. By donating, supporters are directly contributing to the success of these young individuals, helping them gain experiences that shape their futures. For many cadets, these competitions represent opportunities to develop character, and the chance to apply what they’ve learned in high-pressure, real-world scenarios.
