WARREN, Ark. – The Warren School District Cafeterias celebrated an exciting milestone on Friday, September 20, with the grand opening of their partnership with K-12 Culinary Connection, a comprehensive program designed to elevate the school dining experience for students. The event marked the official launch of new and improved food services across the district’s cafeterias, aimed at providing fresh, nutritious, and student-approved meals.
The K-12 Culinary Connection initiative emphasizes creating a more dynamic and engaging cafeteria environment by offering students greater variety and healthier options. Through this program, students can enjoy meals prepared using locally sourced ingredients, innovative recipes, and menu designs that focus on nutritional balance and taste. The goal of the initiative is not only to enhance the quality of food but to foster a positive dining experience that encourages healthy eating habits among students.
Cafeteria staff have been trained by Culinary Connection chefs to ensure they are able to implement the new menu items.
With an emphasis on fresh produce, whole grains, and reduced sodium and sugar, the program aims to meet national dietary guidelines while also making the meals appealing to students of all ages. The grand opening event showcased the revamped cafeteria menus and allowed students and staff to explore the new culinary offerings available through the partnership.
The initiative is part of Warren School District’s broader commitment to improving student wellness and creating an environment where healthy eating is part of the everyday routine.
The grand opening was attended by members of the School District’s administration, including Superintendent Bryan Cornish as well as several school board members.
