BANKS, Ark. – The Buck Fever Festival is gearing up for its much-anticipated Venison/HBM Chili Cook-Off this Saturday, November 2, 2024, in Banks, Arkansas. With only four entries so far, festival organizers are calling for more cooks to join the competition and make this a flavorful showdown.

Participants can sign up now or even on the day of the event, providing ample opportunity for last-minute entries. Entry forms are available on the Buck Fever Festival’s Facebook page, along with additional details. The competition entry fee is $20, with proceeds benefiting the Buck Fever Festival.

Cook-off contestants are encouraged to bring their best recipes, as the judging will focus on four main criteria: taste, aroma, appearance/color, and consistency. Prizes are in store for the top three entries, with a grand prize of $100 for first place, making it a heated battle worth joining.

Teams should plan to check in upon arrival and have their chili ready for a 4:00 PM drop-off at the festival tent. The winner will be announced at 5:45 PM, giving cooks a chance to enjoy the festival after the contest.

This is a great opportunity for chili enthusiasts to showcase their skills, share their favorite venison and HBM chili recipes, and support a beloved community event.
