Lincoln County Placed Under Burn Ban Amid Dry Conditions

STAR CITY, Ark. – As of Wednesday morning at 1:46 a.m., Lincoln County, including the Star City area, has been placed under a burn ban due to ongoing dry conditions. The ban comes amid continued concerns over wildfire risks in South Central Arkansas.

Several counties have already enacted burn bans to prevent potential fires, including:

  • Dallas County
  • Ouachita County
  • Union County
  • Lincoln County

Additionally, the city limits of Hampton are also under a burn ban.

With no precipitation forecasted through next Tuesday, October 15, officials are urging residents to remain cautious and adhere to the restrictions to help reduce the risk of wildfires.

Residents in affected areas are reminded that all outdoor burning, including the use of burn barrels, is prohibited until further notice.
