South Arkansas Regional Hospital Honors Reverend Barry Dobson with Chapel Dedication

EL DORADO, Ark. — South Arkansas Regional Hospital (SARH) will host a chapel dedication ceremony on Wednesday, October 23, 2024, at 12:00 p.m. to honor the life and service of Reverend Barry Lamar Dobson, who passed away on June 10, 2024. The event will occur at SARH, 700 Grove Street, El Dorado.

Rev. Barry Dobson was hired in February 2022. as a Chaplaincy Coordinator for South Arkansas Regional Hospital (Medical Center of South Arkansas). He significantly impacted the community through his role, providing spiritual care, emotional support, and crisis ministry to patients, their families, and hospital staff. Over his 38-year ministry, he was also the beloved pastor of St. John Missionary Baptist Church for 32 years.

Rev. Dobson was a community pillar, contributing to many local organizations, including the Arkansas Black History Commission and the Union County Historical Society. Known for his passion for faith, family, and community, his legacy inspires those who knew him.
