WARREN, Ark. – Teen Cuisine, a program offered by the University of Arkansas Extension, is helping teens at Warren High School become more self-sufficient in the kitchen while promoting healthy habits. Each lesson covers important topics such as nutrition, food safety, food preparation, and physical activity, empowering students with skills that will benefit them for a lifetime.
Penny Vance, the Bradley County Extension Family and Consumer Sciences (FCS) agent, leads the Teen Cuisine lessons twice a month in Brooke Hogue’s Family and Consumer Sciences (FACS) classes. The program gives students hands-on experience, teaching them not only how to prepare food but also the value of maintaining a balanced and nutritious diet.
By offering practical lessons in the classroom, the Teen Cuisine program aims to build lifelong healthy habits among the students, ensuring they leave school with the knowledge and confidence to make healthier choices and care for themselves in the kitchen.
