HERMITAGE, Ark. – Hermitage Elementary students are currently participating in their Fall Canned Food Drive, which began on October 29 and will continue until November 15, 2024. The drive, aimed at stocking the Hermitage Baptist Church food pantry, encourages students to bring canned and non-perishable food items to their classrooms to support local families in need.
With the drive already underway, the school community has rallied to gather essential food items, including cereal, oatmeal, rice, canned vegetables, peanut butter, pasta sauce, and more. This effort not only helps to provide much-needed resources to the pantry but also encourages students to engage in a meaningful cause.
To further motivate participation, the class contributing the highest number of items will earn a popcorn and movie day. Parents and community members are invited to continue supporting this drive as it enters its final week, helping students make a positive impact in their community.
