Betty Anne Hemphill Ederington Warner, 1930-2024

Betty Anne Hemphill Ederington Warner died Sunday, December 1, 2024  in Warren.  She was born July 8, 1930 in Fulton County, Georgia, a daughter of the late John A. Hemphill and Stella M. Hemphill.  She received her education in the Warren School system and graduated from Little Rock Central High School.  She furthered her education at the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville where she was a member of Pi Beta Phi sorority.  While attending the University, she married J.T. Ederington III and after school they moved to Warren where he entered into the family businesses.

She lived a very active lifestyle and had a wide circle of friends.  She loved playing bridge and  traveling internationally with groups of friends. She was a member of the First Methodist Church, a life member of Warren Jr. Auxiliary and a long time member of the Donald W. Reynolds YMCA.  She was a sports enthusiast and enjoyed going to Razorback games, snow skiing, golfing, bowling and was well known for her daily walks around town.  She supported her children’s activities including being a Swim Team mom, a Home Room mother, a Brownie scout leader and attending years of her children’s and grandsons’ many sporting, school and community events.  

After J.T.’s death, she married Richard Vance Warner who she was married to for 38 years. They enjoyed traveling, golfing and spending time in Florida with family and friends.

Betty Anne is survived by daughters Lou Anne Anderson and husband District Judge Bruce Anderson, Warren, Arkansas and Mary Lynn Richardson, Erie, Colorado; grandchildren Jase Richardson (Alannah), Denver, Colorado, Aaron Richardson (Emily), Denver, Colorado and niece Nancy Bowen (Brian).  She was preceded in death by an infant brother, her husband J.T. Ederington III, her son John Thomas (Tommy) Ederington IV, her sister Virginia VanHorn, her brother in law James VanHorn and her husband Richard Vance Warner.

A private family graveside service was held at Oakland Cemetery on Friday, December 6, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. A visitation reception was held at the Warren First Methodist Church Fellowship Hall on Friday, December 6, 2024 between 2:00 and 4:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Donald W. Reynolds YMCA, Bart Goodwin, 207 North Main Street, Warren, AR 71671.
