Coy Ray Martin, age 72, of New Edinburg, AR made his last ride on Friday, November 29, 2024 as he peacefully departed from his earthly home surrounded by loved ones. He was born on January 13, 1952 in Warren, AR to the late Jack Martin and Lizzie Mae Parker Martin. Coy professed Jesus as his Savior and longed to go home to be with family and friends he missed dearly.
Coy was employed for over 25 years at Georgia-Pacific in Fordyce. Coy often reminisced of days gone by as he told stories of growing up and big family gatherings. He often talked about his favorite time was riding his horse in the river bottoms with his dog doing a little hunting, but mostly enjoying the peacefulness of the woods.
To cherish the many wonderful memories, he leaves behind a very special nephew Brandon Martin and spouse Amber of New Edinburg, AR and their kids, his wonderful great-nieces who all cared for him on his last miles of his ride. Also, he leaves behind his niece Shelly Martin-Grider and spouse Jeremy of Cabot, AR and nephew Joey Martin of Little Rock, AR.
Other than his parents he is preceded in death by his brothers, Thomas “Frank” Martin, John Charles Martin and Donald Wayne “Cotton” Martin.
A memorial service were held 1:30 p.m. Saturday, December 14, 2024 at Reaves Cemetery by Frazer’s Funeral Home.
