Morris Will Byrd, age 86, of Pansy, AR was born May 27, 1938, on the family farm where he spent life. He left his worldly home on January 14, 2025. Morris was the son of the late Polk Byrd and Geraldine Taylor Byrd of Pansy, AR. He was employed by Central Moloney from 1960-2002, working his way from coil winder to traffic manager. He would often say he “had the best job there ever was”.
He was known by many names: Morris Will, Daddy, Pop, Papa, Uncle, and Bob White. He enjoyed numerous hobbies such as calf roping, fishing, hunting bucks, ducks and quail, riding motorcycles, and waterskiing just to name a few. He could fix just about anything, especially if it involved welding. He was a proud cattle farmer, raising cattle in Pansy for almost 40 years, while making sure to keep his equipment in top notch condition. His family believes he was possibly the inventor of the original Robo Duck, selling them on the side of the highway.
He was a member of Bethel #2 Missionary Baptist Church in the Herbine community.
Morris was preceded in death by his parents Polk and Geraldine Byrd and an infant sister Barbara Sue Byrd.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Almareda Reep Byrd of Pansy; his two daughters, Diann Nowlen of Monticello, and Necie Reed (Brian) of Conway. Five grandchildren Jake Nowlen (Lacy), Joe Nowlen (Elizabeth), Abbey Nowlen, Anna Reed, and Will Reed; four great-grandchildren Jordyn Montgomery (Adam), Parker Nowlen, Presley Nowlen, and Gracie Kate Nowlen; one great-great-grandson Jasper Joe Montgomery and his sister, Nita Von Gavin (Jerry).
Funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 17, 2025 at Frazer’s Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Wade Peddy officiating. Burial will be in Enon Cemetery by Frazer’s Funeral Home. Pallbearers are Jake Nowlen, Joe Nowlen, Parker Nowlen, Brian Reed, Will Reed and Terry Morris. Visitation will be 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Thursday, January 16, 2025 at Frazer’s Funeral Home.
