Rev. Charles W. Cauley, 1941-2024

Rev. Charles W. Cauley age 83, of Hermitage, AR departed this life for his heavenly home on December 31st, 2024. He was born on August 24th, 1941 in Queen City, TX a son of the late Loys Cauley and Connie Yates Cauley formerly of Queen City, TX.  Charles was an ordained minister for over 40 years, he served at the Palestine Church in Johnsville, AR for 37 years, he served prior years at Antioch Baptist Church in Gravelridge, AR and the Trinity Methodist Church in Warren, AR.  In his early years Charles worked in the elevator business, he worked for Montgomery Ward, Westinghouse and Otis Elevator in their service departments. Charles was blessed with Gods word, he captured his congregations with sincerity, passion and truth in his message, you could tell every sermon was God given.  Charles loved to play the piano and sing.

He shared his talents across the country playing and singing at various churches, revivals and special services.

Other than his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Wayne Cauley, 2 nephews Billy Cauley and Eddie Cauley, a grand-son-in law Jason Langley, and a son-in-law Mickey Hargis.

Left to cherish his memory is his dearest wife of 63 years, Margaret Sharp Cauley.  A daughter Daphne Hargis of Hermitage, AR, a son Randy Cauley and spouse Belinda, Hermitage, AR and a daughter Beverly Cauley, Hermitage, AR. Grandchildren Carrie Cauley-Langley, Junction City, AR, Michael Cauley and Brittany, El Dorado, AR, Jodi Harrod and Nathan, Hermitage, AR. Julia James and Jesse of Hermitage, AR. Cheyenne Book and Levi, Hamburg, AR. Great grandchildren Swayzie and Charlie Langley; Elizabeth, Isaiah, Sophia and Landen Cauley. Kaysen, Kouper and Kenzley Harrod; Kage, Aycelynn, Avenlee, Cody James and Rylee Book. A sister Sue Slaughter, Marshall, TX a sister-in-law Louise Cauley, Queen City, TX. Nieces Jannis Brannon and Vicki Parker and nephews Carroll Heard and Jesse Cauley. 

Charles loved his family dearly. Nothing made him happier than seeing his kids and their babies being happy and having fun. He loved to camp at Camp Albert Pike in the Ouachita Mountains and hosted many a spring and summer vacations there as well.  Charles never met a stranger, was a fun-loving man, strong Christian man, who loved and served his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

  (The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; He will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid, do not be discouraged) 

Funeral services were held 2:00PM Saturday, January 4th at Frazer’s Chapel. Burial in Union Hill Cemetery wit Rev. Wayman Man and Rev. Wayne Wesson officiating.
