Gene H. Hargrave, 77 of Warren passed away Wednesday, February 12, 2025 at Baptist Health Medical Center in Monticello. He was born September 12, 1947 in Warren to the late Samuel “Hamp” and Cleo Temple Hargrave. He was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church in Warren and was a retired logger. He enjoyed tinkering with anything that had a motor and loved spending time with his grandchildren doing whatever they wanted to do.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by 2 sons, Greg (Rabbit) Hargrave and an infant son; a brother, Samuel Ray Hargrave; and a sister, Sandra Hargrave.
Survivors include his wife, Shelda Free Hargrave of Warren; daughter, Kayla Hargrave (Wesly) Horton of Star City; brother, Bobby (Deb) Hargrave of Warren; sister, Wanda (Gary) Ashcraft of Warren; sister-in-law, Patsy Hargrave of Randall; 7 grandchildren, Adam (Tiffany) Hargrave, Gracyn Hargrave, Kaydon Goffin, Maleigh Goffin, Jagger Horton, Conor Horton and Cooper Horton; 3 great-grandchildren, Ian, Isabella, and Annalise Hargrave; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Graveside services are Monday, February 17, 2025 at Cornerville Cemetery with Bro. Christopher Peek officiating. Visitation is 1:30-2:00PM Monday at the cemetery. Pallbearers are Kaydon Goffin, Adam Hargrave, Wesly Horton, Jagger Horton, Brad Hargrave, Chris Ashcraft, Sam Hargrave, and Jarrod Hargrave. Honorary pallbearers are DeWayne Lane, Jonnie Stewart, Bill Ray, Ken Curtis, Darrell Harvey, and Jace.
