Floyd Dale Ashcraft, age 84, of Warren, Arkansas passed away peacefully at Baptist Health Medical Center in Little Rock, AR surrounded by family on Friday, February 28, 2025. He was born on August 9, 1940, in Rye, AR, son of the late Coys Dale Ashcraft and Robbie Lee Wooldridge Ashcraft of Rye, Arkansas. He was a loving son, brother, husband, father, and Papaw.

Floyd is survived by his daughter, Traci Ashcraft Bakanovic (James) and his grandson, Garrett Bakanovic, all of Maumelle, AR; two sisters, Mary White of Calmer, Barbara Diane Martin (Paul) of New Edinburg, and a brother, Robert Coice Ashcraft (Billie) of Sheridan; also, a host of beloved nieces and nephews, as well as a number of people to whom he was a father figure over the years.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 48 years, Patricia Smith Ashcraft, whom he married February 21, 1960; a sister, Betty Nell Rosegrant, and a brother-in-law, Tom White.
In his youth, he attended Enon Missionary Baptist Church in Rye, AR, and helped build their new church in the summer of 1956. After marriage, he attended Macedonia Baptist Church in Warren, AR. Floyd was a 1958 graduate of Woodlawn High School. He worked on the Arkansas and Louisiana pipeline in 1957 as a welding helper. After graduation, he began his career at Potlatch Corporation as a laborer, later as head machine operator, head inspector and checker, billing clerk, draftsman, cost estimator and quality control supervisor, rough lumber coordinator and inventory control, laminating supervisor, finally specialties superintendent.
He retired from Potlatch after 33 years of service only to start his own woodworking and custom cabinetry shop with his brother-in-law, Tom White. Floyd then went to work at Bradley Lumber Company. Eventually, he acquired and operated Ashcraft Wood Products.
He enjoyed the outdoors spending time fishing, hunting, and trapping on the Saline River and fishing at Pendleton on the Arkansas River. Floyd was an avid hunter and a member of the Pine Ridge Hunting Club for which he served as President for a number of years. Floyd was happiest spending time with friends and family.
A graveside service was 4:00 p.m. on Monday, March 3, 2025, at Union Cemetery in Rye, AR, officiated by Brother Charles Wooley. Active pallbearers are Mike Ashcraft, Jerry Ashcraft, Chase Ashcraft, Chris Yaney, Thomas Frazer, Tim Whitt, Jamie Cheek, and Scott Hendrickson. Honorary pallbearers are O’Dell Wolfe, R. P. Outlaw, Johnny Ashcraft, and Garland Arrington.
