Warren wasted no time, jumping out to a 4-0 lead in the top of the first inning. The Lady Jacks’ defense held strong, shutting down Stuttgart in the bottom of the frame.
In the second inning, Warren added another run while once again keeping the Lady Ricebirds off the scoreboard. Despite getting runners on base in the following innings, Warren was unable to extend the lead until Stuttgart managed to plate a run, making it 6-1.
The Lady Jacks broke the game open in the fourth inning with an offensive explosion. Warren sent 13 batters to the plate and scored 11 runs, seemingly putting Stuttgart away. The Lady Ricebirds responded with two runs of their own, but Warren still held a commanding 16-3 lead after four innings.
In the fifth, Warren tacked on another run to make it 17-3, appearing poised for a run-rule victory. However, Stuttgart battled back, scoring six runs to cut the deficit to 17-9.
Any hopes of a Stuttgart comeback were crushed in the sixth inning as Warren piled on nine more runs to put the game completely out of reach. The Lady Ricebirds failed to rally in the bottom of the inning, sealing the final score at 26-9 and keeping Warren undefeated.
Offensively, Ember Johnson led the Lady Jacks, going a perfect 5-for-5 at the plate with a home run and scoring five runs. Other key contributors included Breize Fellows (4-for-6), Haven Johnson (4-for-6), Natalie Hargrave (3-for-4, home run), Raeleigh Milton (3-for-4), Charlee Wardlaw (3-for-5), and Bayleigh Miller (3-for-5).
Raeleigh Milton also delivered in the pitching circle, striking out six batters and earning her fourth win of the season.
The Lady Jacks will be back in action on Monday, March 17, as they travel to face Drew Central.
