The Lumberjacks only registered three hits in the contest, but held the Dragons (4-3) to two hits in what proved to be a pitching duel. Warren struck first in the game when Antonio Jordan scored on a RBI groundout by Hayden Cathey. Genoa Central tied the game in the bottom of the third on a bases-loaded hit-by-pitch with one out, but starting pitcher Kolby Pope struck out the next two hitters to keep the score 1-1.

In the top of the fifth inning Pope scored on an error to give the Jacks a 2-1 edge. Ren Reep extended the lead to 3-1 in the next frame with a sacrifice fly. Pope struck out the side in order in the bottom of the sixth and Nathan Spears came in to close out the game in the seventh. The Dragons loaded the bases with two outs, but Spears struck out the final hitter of the game on three pitches to clinch the win for Warren.

Pope earned the win on the mound and allowed one run on two hits with eight strikeouts, while Spears picked up the save. Pope, Spears, and Jordan registered the only hits of the game for the Lumberjacks.
