Warren Uses Big First Inning to Defeat Dumas

WARREN, Ark. (3/13/25) – The Warren High School baseball team scored 16 runs in the bottom of the first and went on to claim a 26-1 victory over Dumas in non-conference action Thursday afternoon at the Warren Sports Complex.

Ryan Spears started the game on the mound and struck out the side in order to begin things before 11 straight batters reached base for Warren (6-0), highlighted by a two-run home run from Nathan Spears over the left-center wall, in the bottom of the opening frame. The Jacks would score five more times before Ryan Spears retired the Bobcats (0-3) in order in the top of the second inning.

The Jacks scored 10 more times in the bottom of the second inning to move in front 26-0. Freshman Rett McGaha finished the game on the mound and allowed an unearned run to set the final score of 26-1 after three innings of play.

Ryan Spears went 3-for-4 at the plate with four RBIs to lead the team. Kolby Pope drove home three runs, while Hayden Cathey, Nathan Spears, Ren Reep, Logan Case, and Tucker McDiarmid drove in two runs apiece. Aceen Jurado, Anthony Ross, Bryson Harris, Parker O’Neal, and Jude Cathey each picked up one RBI. Warren registered 15 hits as a team and didn’t allow one to Dumas.

The Orange and Black return to action Friday, March 14 with a non-conference tilt against Sheridan. First pitch from the Warren Sports Complex is scheduled for 4:30 p.m.
