Davis steps into the position with a strong background at both the high school and collegiate levels. Most recently, he led the Star City Lady Bulldogs during the 2024-2025 season. Prior to that, Davis spent three years at South Arkansas Community College in El Dorado, where he served as head coach for both the men’s and women’s basketball programs.

His time at SouthArk included launching the men’s basketball program in 2019, guiding both teams to national rankings during the 2023-2024 season, and emphasizing academic success, with the women’s team maintaining at least a 3.25 GPA across his tenure, including a 3.67 GPA in the spring of 2022.

Also, Davis previously led the Hermitage High School boys basketball team for two seasons.

Davis also brings additional athletic experience, having served as a volunteer assistant softball coach at the University of Louisiana Monroe in 2016. While coaching at SouthArk, he also worked as a student recruitment specialist.

A 2017 graduate of Louisiana Tech University, Davis earned a bachelor’s degree in kinesiology with a concentration in health and physical education.

In addition to coaching basketball, Davis will also take on duties as the WHS Virtual Lab Facilitator and Lumberjack Golf Coach.
