WARREN, Ark. (4/22/25) – Warren and Crossett played a scoreless tie through six innings, but the pitchers’ duel was broken up in a big way as the Eagles scored eight times in the final inning to claim a pivotal 8-0 victory over the Jacks Tuesday evening at the Warren Sports Complex.

Kolby Pope and Will Harrington were locked in a duel through six innings. Pope allowed three hits through six innings and struck out 10, but five walks proved to be taxing on his pitch count. Harrington went the distance for the Eagles with three runs allowed on three hits with eight strikeouts against two walks.
Warren falls to 14-5 overall and is now 6-2 in conference games, while Crossett is now 16-4 and 7-1 in league action. The Eagles broke the game open in the seventh inning on three relief pitchers. Harrington helped himself with a three-run triple to put the visitors on top 3-0. When the dust settled, they had scored eight times on four hits. Harrington allowed a leadoff single to Parker O’Neal in the bottom half, but kept the Lumberjacks off the scoreboard for the 8-0 win.
The Orange and Black had a chance in the third frame when Jude Cathey walked, but the courtesy runner was picked off by the catcher. Another walk followed, but a strikeout and lineout to second base ended the threat. Ryan Spears laced a one-out double down the right-field line in the fifth inning and Tucker McDiarmid reached with two outs to put runners on first and second. However, a strikeout ended the frame.
Warren appeared to catch a break when an error on a grounder by Nathan Spears led off the sixth inning. Three flyouts ended the inning and left the runner stranded.
Pope allowed a one-out single and hit a batter in the top of the first, but a 4-6-3 double play got him out of the jam. The Eagles put runners on second and third with one out in the fifth, but Pope was able to wiggle out of trouble with two strikeouts sandwiched around a walk. Crossett appeared poised to take the lead in the sixth inning with runners on second and third with no outs. However, Pope struck out the next two batters and induced a groundout to shortstop to escape unscathed.
The Lumberjacks are scheduled to return to action in another 4A-8 conference road game against Monticello on Thursday, April 24. First pitch across the Saline River is set for 5 p.m.
