Warren to Host Dedication Ceremony for Newly Named Airport Honoring John B. Frazer Jr.

WARREN, Ark. – A dedication ceremony will be held Wednesday, April 30, at 11 a.m. to officially recognize the renaming of the Warren Municipal Airport to the Warren Municipal Airport–John B. Frazer Jr. Field. The ceremony will take place at the airport, located just south of Warren.

Formerly known simply as the Warren Municipal Airport, the facility was renamed last year following a recommendation by the Warren Aviation Commission and subsequent approval by the Warren City Council. The new name honors the late John B. Frazer Jr., a former Warren mayor and well-known local businessman, whose contributions played a pivotal role in the development of the airport.

Frazer’s ties to the facility run deep. His family donated the land on which the airport was constructed, and Frazer, an accomplished pilot, spent many years flying a twin-engine Beechcraft Baron. His passion for aviation and his commitment to the community left a lasting impact that city leaders wished to commemorate through the airport’s new designation.

Local officials, members of the Frazer family, and community members are expected to gather for Wednesday’s dedication ceremony.
