The Rotary Club of Warren met for its first of two meetings this month on Tuesday, May 13 inside First Methodist Church. First, the club announced Alex Wargo won the raffle for the Mother’s Day Gift Basket and the club is still waiting on some confirmation of the final total, but more than $600 was raised for the Imagination Library with the raffle. The meeting then transitioned to the program of Rotarian Rev. Dixon Platt who introduced Betsy Anderson of The CALL in Southeast Arkansas. Anderson told the group about some of her background and spoke at length about the organization’s mission. They are a non-profit organization that mobilizes local churches to engage in foster care. They accept no state funding. The CALL gives churches the tools and opportunities they need to love and support foster and adoptive families while maintaining a direct line of support to the family. The CALL provides tangible, emotional, and spiritual support to families as they serve children in foster care. Anderson explained they serve Ashley, Bradley, Chicot, Desha, Drew, and Lincoln counties. She answered a few questions from the crowd to end the program. If you missed out on the Mother’s Day Gift Basket Raffle, but still want to donate to the Imagination Library, please get in touch with a Rotarian.
