The Lady Cats opened the game by capitalizing on a pair of errors to take a 1-0 lead in the top of the first. But Warren responded forcefully in the bottom half of the inning.
Haven Johnson, hit by a pitch to start the inning, came around to score after two Watson Chapel throwing errors. Ember Johnson singled and later scored on an error, while Charlee Wardlaw, who reached on the same miscue, crossed the plate on an RBI single by Raeleigh Milton. Natalie Hargrave followed with a triple to bring in Milton, then scored herself on Breize Fellows’ sacrifice fly. At the end of the explosive frame, Warren led 5-1.
Warren’s defense locked in from there, holding Watson Chapel scoreless despite allowing a leadoff baserunner in the second and third innings. Wardlaw helped erase a potential threat by catching a runner stealing in the third.
In the bottom of the third, Warren added to their lead. With two on and two outs, Livi McKinney delivered a clutch 2-RBI single to push the lead to 7-1.
The Lady Jacks tacked on two more in the fourth. After a walk to Wardlaw and a single from Presley Reep, Hargrave stepped up again with her second triple of the game, driving in both runners to extend the margin to 9-1.
Warren closed out the game in the fifth. Blythe Calloway singled to lead off, McKinney doubled, and Haven Johnson drew a walk to load the bases. Ember Johnson then ripped a single to bring home Calloway and McKinney, sealing the 11-1 run-rule victory.
Hargrave led the offensive charge, finishing a perfect 3-for-3 with two triples and four RBIs. Johnson, Calloway, and McKinney each went 2-for-3 as Warren improved to 14-5 overall and 6-4 in conference play.
The Lady Jacks will return to action Monday for their regular season finale at home against Magnolia.
