BCMC’s May Employee of the Month award goes to Tina Battles of the Medical-Surgical Unit, also known as First Station. Tina’s nomination stated: “I’d like to nominate Tina Battles, one of our long-time charge nurses, for Employee of the Month. Tina is truly the backbone of our MedSurg department. She’s been with us for many years and consistently goes above and beyond to make sure everything runs smoothly. She helps with staffing, jumps in with patient care when needed, supports her nurse manager without hesitation, and always takes the time to talk with patient families. Tina maintains a great rapport with our physicians and keeps them informed on any changes or patient needs. She even assists with making sure patients are in the correct status and often supports the case manager with various tasks. Tina is a huge asset to BCMC. She represents the heart of our hospital and plays a big role not just within our walls, but in how we serve our community. We’re incredibly proud of the work she does every day.”
