WARREN, Ark. – The City of Warren has been awarded a $199,800 grant to support critical infrastructure upgrades at the Warren Municipal Airport – John B. Frazer Jr. Field.
The funding will be used to repair and seal cracks along the airport’s 3,829-foot runway and to enhance site drainage, improving safety and functionality at the city-owned facility. According to the mayor’s office, the grant will be supplemented with a small local match, which will include both cash and in-kind donated labor.
Mayor Gregg Reep expressed gratitude to those involved in securing the grant, including the Warren Aviation Commission, Building Official and Airport Manager Rob Johnson, his assistant Malisa Kennedy, and Dale Wheeler.
John B. Frazer Jr. Field includes a small lounge and restroom facilities and serves as a vital resource for general aviation in Bradley County. The improvements are expected to extend the life of the runway and help maintain operational standards at the airport.
