HERMITAGE, Ark. – Roger Martin has officially been named the new head coach of both the football and baseball programs for the Hustlin’ Hermits at Hermitage High School.

In an announcement made on social media June 2, Martin shared his excitement about the new role after stepping away from a 35-year career filled with travel and time away from his family. “I have traded my work boots, miles and years away from my family for tennis shoes and a whistle,” he wrote.
Martin expressed deep gratitude to the Hermitage community, calling it “an opportunity” and sharing his hopes for a year focused on player development, building traditions, and instilling pride in his teams.
“I’m grateful for this opportunity given to me by the community of Hermitage and hope I make them proud,” he stated.
The Hermitage School District has yet to announce a formal start date, but Martin is expected to begin his coaching duties ahead of the upcoming fall football season.
