WARREN, Ark. – The team of Teresa Williams and Emma Hester of Sheridan shot four-under-par 68 to win the first flight of the Warren Ladies’ Scramble Wednesday, June 25, at Warren Country Club. The team of Sonia Barker and Shelley Impsom of Smackover placed second with a one-under-par 71. Suzy Burson and Teri McCaskill of Smackover won third place with a 73.
Players from Bastrop, DeWitt, El Dorado, Monroe, La., Monticello, Monroe, Norphlet, Sheridan, Smackover and Warren competed.
In the second flight, the team of Kelly Wade of Monroe and Treena Andrews of Bastrop won first place. Sharolyn Givens and Kay Hardin of El Dorado were second, and Nancy Vittitow, playing with Hannah Porto of Monticello, placed third.
The third flight winners were the home team of Lisa Higgins and Libby Mann; second was the team of Margaret Marsh of El Dorado and Virginia Hornbeck of DeWitt. Placing third were Renee Treadwell and Connie Sanderlin of Monticello.
Sonia Barker won the prize for the longest drive on No. 8, and Teri McCaskill won Closest to the Pin on No. 13. Libby Mann of Warren won the prize for the ball closest to the line on Hole No. 8.
Lisa Higgins and Libby Mann co-chaired the event. Glenetta Burks, Felecia Doster and Nancy Vittitow chaired various committees.
Members of the Men’s Golf Association provided carts for the event. Bailey Harrod, the club greenskeeper, was in charge of the course, and Christy Simmons, club manager, served a delicious breakfast and provided a lavish taco bar for lunch after play.
