The event was led by Master of Ceremonies State Representative Jeff Wardlaw, who guided attendees through a packed program highlighting the contributions of individuals across Bradley County and the broader agricultural community.

Bradley County Judge Klay McKinney opened the luncheon with a warm welcome, followed by the recognition of special guests by Warren Mayor Gregg Reep. Festival Chairman Nora Pacheco honored former Pink Tomato Festival Chairmen and offered remarks on the importance of tradition and community support in making the long-running festival a success.

The keynote address was delivered by Dr. John D. Anderson, Senior Associate Vice President for Agriculture-Extension with the University of Arkansas System Division of Agriculture. Dr. Anderson praised the region’s farming heritage and its vital role in Arkansas’s economy.

State Senator Ben Gilmore was also on hand to bring greetings, acknowledging the importance of events like the Tomato Luncheon in connecting community, agriculture, and public service.

Two major recognitions were announced during the event. The 2025 “First Box of Tomatoes” award went to Weston Clanton of Hermitage Farms, and the 2025 Bradley County Farm Family of the Year was named as Richard and Karen McDougald, honoring their contributions to local agriculture.

Chairman Nora Pacheco also received a special Chairman’s Award in recognition of her leadership and dedication to this year’s festival.

As is tradition, the event featured a spirited auction. A box of tomatoes sold for an impressive $3,100, purchased by Thomas Frazer. A cake brought in $1,500 with State Senator Ben Gilmore placing the winning bid.

Penny Vance, County Extension Agent-Family & Consumer Sciences, closed the luncheon with final remarks, thanking all those who attended and contributed to the continued success of the festival.
