MONTICELLO, Ark. – The Arkansas Archeological Survey’s UAM Research Station will host open lab days each Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., inviting the public to visit, learn, and volunteer in archeological activities. This Wednesday will be particularly special, as it marks the first lab day with the station’s new assistant, Sunni.

Participants can meet the UAM station archeologist, explore archeological processes, and gain hands-on experience in the lab. These open lab days offer the local community an opportunity to engage directly with archeology, fostering education and volunteer participation.

The lab sessions take place in Room 117 of the Visual and Performing Arts Building at 580 University Drive in Monticello. The community is encouraged to stop by, interact with staff, and learn more about ongoing research projects and findings.
