The Re-New-ing Edinburg community group gathered Tuesday, July 15, at the New Edinburg Community Center to plan upcoming events and review recent activities.
The meeting was called to order by President Martha Tolano. Minutes from the June meeting had been distributed in advance and were approved following a motion by Roger McClellan, seconded by Trenna Kemp. Treasurer Linda Hornaday presented the financial report, which will be filed for audit.
Planning centered on the upcoming Back to School Splash scheduled for Saturday, July 26. Roger McClellan announced that FBT Bank and Mortgage will sponsor the event and has already contributed funds. He confirmed that two inflatable attractions have been reserved and will be set up by 9 a.m. that morning. Trenna Kemp volunteered to handle concessions, including preparing snow cone mix and purchasing hot dogs, buns, condiments, and bottled water.
The group also briefly discussed the July 10 game night, which had limited participation due to busy summer schedules. No future game nights were scheduled at this time.
Looking ahead, the group is preparing for several fall events, including:
- Cleveland County Fair – September 17–20
- Great South Arkansas Junk Hunt – October 23–26
- Halloween Drive-Thru – October 31 at the New Edinburg Community Center
The next Re-New-ing Edinburg meeting is scheduled for August 19. The meeting concluded with a motion to adjourn by Patricia McClellan, seconded by Luis Tolano.
