MONTICELLO, Ark. – Rhett Harris, the seven-year-old son of Laci Harris, Dustin Harris (Lindsay) of Monticello, has earned his “Ticket” to compete in the 2025 AMA Loretta Lynn Motocross Nationals. This event is held the last week of July at country music legend Loretta Lynn’s Ranch in Hurricane Mills, Tennessee. Rhett will be representing not only Monticello but Arkansas while at the ranch, as he is the only child as of now that earned a ticket to race from Arkansas.
Rhett is following in his older brother Crayton Harris’s footsteps when it comes to his love for dirt bikes and motocross racing. Crayton has competed multiple times at Loretta’s. Crayton & Rhett both plan to be back to the Ranch together in 2026. Rhett began racing at 3 years old and has never looked back. He has raced at several tracks in Arkansas, Louisiana, Texas, and most recently Wisconsin. Rhett recently secured the Arkansas State Championship Series in his age division as well as several overall top placing positions at a variety of races/tracks.

This will be Rhett’s first trip to “The Ranch.” Thousands of riders of all ages and from all around the world begin what is known to many as “The Road to Loretta’s” at the beginning of each year with high hopes of earning one of the 42 coveted “Tickets” that can be earned in each class held at the National Race. Those who earn a ticket will compete with riders from all over the world while at the Ranch.
Earning a Ticket to Nationals is quite the process. Riders will begin by signing up to race in as many Area Qualifiers as they would like and, in the Region(s) of their choice – in Rhett’s case this would include both South Central as well as North Central Regions. Area qualifiers are held and riders need a top 8 overall finish to advance to the Regional Race. Once riders make it into Regionals, they will then take the top 6 riders from each class, allowing these riders to punch their tickets to Loretta’s. Thousands of riders will compete and the top 42 riders in each class will attend Nationals. Rhett competed in the South Central Regional at 3 Palms MX in Conroe, TX with an overall 7th place. Thankfully, he had also qualified at Archview MX in St. Louis, MO so this would allow him one last chance to earn his ticket for this year. Rhett was able to punch his ticket with an overall 2nd place in Tigerton, Wisconsin.
He is very excited to make his first trip to Hurricane Mills. The trip to Loretta’s comes with a large price tag, so his family will host fundraisers to assist with the cost of the trip. The family expressed their appreciation to everyone who has contributed to the boys via racing fundraisers, sponsorships, and of course the annual Boston Butt Cookout so many look forward to. Many have asked about sponsorships for Rhett and it is not too late to contribute to his trip to Loretta’s. We look forward to updating you all on his results and full recap of his first trip to The Ranch. RacerTV will also broadcast this event all week. The family will be posting schedules/updates/results to social media for everyone following from home.
