After SRN’s last report yesterday, a Van Buren County investigator informed BCSO that they do not consider a phone ping to be a physical sighting and that the case remains with the Bradley County Sheriff’s Department until “proof is given that Rod was in their county.”

BCSO Chief Deputy Wayne Wesson told SRN, “We’re back to square one and coordinating with” the Arkansas State Police “on other possible ways of obtaining a last physical location.”

There are no search efforts being conducted by Van Buren County at this time.

Wesson added, “We know for a fact he’s not in Bradley County. We just have to find a way to physically place him in the area of his ping.” He said investigators are “trying every avenue available to us” as they work to move forward in locating Riedel.

The chief deputy also urged the community to remember the family during this time, saying, “Please keep them (the family) in your prayers.”

Anyone with information is urged to contact the Bradley County Sheriff’s Office at 870-226-3491 or the Arkansas State Police.
