Free Smoke Alarm Installation Event Set for Sept. 27 in Warren

WARREN, Ark. – The Warren Fire Department is partnering with the American Red Cross to bring a life-saving initiative to the community on Saturday, September 27. As part of the Red Cross “Sound the Alarm, Save a Life” campaign, volunteers will be installing free smoke alarms in homes across Warren.

Working smoke alarms can cut the risk of death from home fires in half, according to the Red Cross. This effort, supported by local volunteers, fire departments, and partners, aims to ensure every household has functioning alarms in place ahead of the fall and winter fire season.

In addition to new installations, volunteers will also test existing smoke alarms for residents unsure whether their current devices are working properly.

To sign up for a free smoke alarm installation or to request a check on your existing alarms, residents should call the Warren Fire Department at (870) 226-8302.

The initiative is made possible through collaboration between the Red Cross, State Farm, FEMA, and the Warren Fire Department.
