John Little

John Little of Warren, AR, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 24, 2025. He is now with the Lord in his heavenly home. John was born in Shreveport, LA. He was the son of William L. and Della Little. He married his high school sweetheart and love of his life, Gail Blankinship Little. He was a graduate of Warren High School, attended Henderson State University, and was a graduate of the University of Arkansas at Monticello. John earned graduate hours at the University of Southern California (USC).

John served in the U.S. Army as a helicopter pilot (CW4). His service included two years of combat duty in Vietnam and two years of duty in Korea, where he piloted the Huey Gunship and Huey Cobra. After retirement from the Army, he served in the Federal Civil Service as an Aviation Safety Officer, Accident Investigator, and Occupational Health Manager for the Department of the Army.

John loved his God, his family, his friends, and his country. He was especially proud of his sons and their families. John was very proud of “the Crew” at the Bradley County Veterans Museum who, with the support of the people of Bradley County and supporters nationwide, contributed to the renovation, operation, and maintenance of the museum that became his passion in retirement. John cherished the fellowship and time spent with members of the First Methodist Church and especially the Fisherman’s Sunday School Class.

John was predeceased by his parents, W.L. and Della Little; one sister, Sue Little O’Neal; and three brothers, Billy Little, Thomas Little, and Charles Little. He was very proud of his nieces and nephews and their accomplishments. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Gail; three sons, John Bradford (Brad) and wife Beth, Douglas Barton (Bart) and wife Lacinda, and Richard Benjamen (Ben) and wife Carole Lee. He is also survived by seven grandchildren—Drew, Cooper (Sarah), Brenna, Reid (Brittney), Blake (Tiffany), Abbie (Mike Nicholson), and Jeb (Jess)—and 11 great-grandchildren.

A memorial service was held 10:00AM Saturday, September 27th, 2025 at the First Methodist Church in Warren, AR
