Mary ‘Diane’ Johnson, 1952-2025

Mary ‘Diane’ Johnson, 73, of Wilmar, passed away August 26, 2025. Born August 5, 1952, to the late Pierce and Bessie Woodard Orr. 

Diane united with Mt. Tabor Missionary Baptist Church at an early age and was a 1970 graduate of Wilmar High School. In 1972 she was united in Holy Matrimony to Patrick Eugene Jones III and she later married the late Atley Johnson in 2004.

Throughout her life, Diane worked for various companies including, Burlington Industries and Drew Memorial Hospital. She was also known as the ‘Avon Lady.’

She is preceded in death by her brother James Orr and nephew, Eric Simmons.

She is survived by her sons, Patrick Eugene Jones IV (Regina) of Plano, TX., Jeremy Laron Rowlett of Wilmar, AR.; one grandson, Patrick Terran Jones V of El Dorado, AR.; one step-granddaughter, Ashley Chauntelle Harrison of Plano, TX; one aunt, Earnestine Gilbert of Harvey, IL.; one sister, Lereatha Hamilton (Henry) of Pine Bluff, AR.; one brother, Johnny Orr (Amanda) of Wilmar, AR.; five nieces, Gwinnett Orr of Little Rock, AR., Toni Jackson of Venus, TX., Denise Moore of Wilmar, AR., Larissa Davis of Pine Bluff, AR., Latoya Orr of Little Rock, AR.; two nephews, Johnny Orr of Wilmar, AR., John Ellis of Pine Bluff, AR.; a special sister-in-law, Peggy Orr of Wilmar, AR.; and a host of family and friends.

Funeral service was held September 13 at Mt. Tabor Missionary Baptist Church in Wilmar, AR. with Rev. Andrew Bess officiating and Rev. Tony Jones eulogist. Burial was in Wilmar Cemetery, Wilmar. Arrangements by Hammons Funeral Home.
