MONTICELLO, Ark. — On Thursday, October 9, the University of Arkansas at Monticello (UAM) Division of Music will host its Fall 2025 Faculty Showcase. The event will begin at 7:30 p.m. in the Fine Arts Center at UAM and is free and open to the public.
The program will feature a selection of repertoire, including a sonata for piccolo, a solo for flute, a sonata for violin and piano, an etude for alto saxophone, opera selections by Giuseppe Verdi, a jazz combo and works for percussion.
UAM faculty participants are Scott Bearden, director of recruitment and retention and associate professor of voice at UAM; Kylan Bigby, assistant professor of percussion at UAM; Dr. Kevin Bryson, director of jazz studies and assistant professor of low brass and jazz at UAM; Dr. Hee-Kyung Juhn, assistant professor of piano at UAM; Drew Ledger, graduate assistant in jazz studies at UAM; Colt Lien, director of choral activities and instructor of music at UAM; and Leah Venable, adjunct instructor of flute and school methods at UAM.
Guest participants are David Higginbotham, guest artist; Phillip House, UAM alumnus and assistant band director for the Texarkana Arkansas School District; and Magdalena Ryszkowski, adjunct teaching staff at Hendrix College and violinist for the Arkansas Symphony Orchestra.
