Zula Johnson, age 91, went to be with her Lord and Savior on September 23, 2025. She was born on April 13, 1934, to the late John Wesley Stedman and the late Hazel Rodgers Stedman.
A member of Grace Cowboy Church of Warren and a devoted Christian, she was known for her powerful prayers, beautiful smile, loving kindness, and giving heart. She was loved by many, but those who loved her most called her “Mama,” “Mammaw,” and “Aunt Zula.” She devoted her life to her family, teaching them about Jesus and showing them the way to eternal life.
Zula was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Billy M. Johnson; two brothers, W.D. Stedman and John T. Stedman; four sisters, Lavern Cornish, Mary Castleberry, Opal Reece Stedman, and Brucell George.
Survivors include a son, Gerald Max Johnson and spouse, Kelly, of Belton, TX; and a daughter, Robin Denise Young and spouse, David, of Warren, AR. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Justin Young and spouse, Ashley of the Rye Community; Katy Oler and spouse, Matt of Belton, TX; Devyn Ashley Watson and spouse, Nathan of Salado TX; Kamille Johnson, Kloe Myhre, and Kameron Cruz, all of Belton, TX; and great-grandchildren Kori Oler, Maverick Oler, Josie Young, and soon-to-be born Evelyn (Evie) Mae Watson. She also is survived by a host of nieces and nephews.
The service will be held at Grace Cowboy Church of Warren, AR at 2:00 pm on Friday, September 26, 2025 with Pastor Chris Barnes officiating. Grace Cowboy Church Band will provide the music. Visitation will be from 1:00 pm until the service begins. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery by Frazer’s Funeral Home. Pallbearers are John Wesley George, Jud Bolland, Jody Bolland, Mike Hammons, Keith Smith, and Randy McKinney. Honorary pallbearers are Grady Laster, Duwayne George, John George, and Dr. Dichelle George.
