WARREN, Ark. – This week’s Johnny’s Radiator Shop Bo Show interview with Coach Bo Hembree is being presented in article form only, as the weekly video edition could not be recorded. The video interviews will resume next week. In this week’s discussion, Hembree reflected on Warren’s 28-26 victory over DeWitt and looked ahead to Friday night’s Union Bank and Trust Saline River Shootout against Monticello.

Hembree said DeWitt proved to be one of the more talented teams in the conference, led by standout quarterbacks and running backs. He pointed to Warren’s special teams as the deciding factor, with the Lumberjacks going 4-for-4 on extra points while stopping every Dragon two-point conversion attempt.
Offensively, Hembree noted that quarterback Jackson Denton had his best performance of the season, supported by an improving offensive line that moved the ball effectively throughout the night. Turnovers, however, prevented Warren from extending its lead and gave DeWitt opportunities to stay in the game.
Defensively, Hembree said the Lumberjacks continue to show progress, but tackling must improve. Facing several tough running backs in recent weeks has tested the defense, and the DeWitt backfield was no exception.
Looking to Monticello, Hembree expects another physical game. The Billies return a number of experienced players and feature a strong running game, making them a tough rival matchup.
Hembree emphasized the need for his team to reduce turnovers, tackle better, and find more consistency. While many players have been part of the program for years, several are still gaining valuable game experience, and the team continues to work hard in practice to improve each week.
The Lumberjacks meet the Billies in Monticello on Friday night in one of southeast Arkansas’ most anticipated rivalry games.
