Bradley County Voters Reject Proposed Jail Sales Taxes

WARREN, Ark. — Bradley County voters have rejected both proposed sales tax measures aimed at funding a new county jail in Tuesday’s election on November 18, 2025.

A proposed 1 percent sales and use tax, intended to generate $19 million for construction of a new jail, failed by a wide margin, with 696 voting against the measure and 305 voting in favor.

A second measure — a proposed 0.625 percent sales and use tax to fund furnishing, painting, and additional needs for the facility — was also defeated, with 713 voting against and 287 supporting it.

With both measures failing, Bradley County will not move forward with building the proposed new jail. County officials have not yet announced what alternative plans may be considered.

More information will be coming soon on the detailed vote totals throughout the County.
