Charlee Wardlaw put up 14 points vs Hot Springs.

WARREN, Ark. – The Warren Lady Jacks opened their 2025–26 basketball season in emphatic fashion Tuesday night at Lumberjack Arena, overpowering the Hot Springs Lady Trojans 64–36 in a statement win that highlighted Warren’s depth, defensive intensity, and balanced scoring attack.

Fast Start Sets the Tone

Warren wasted little time seizing control. Sophomore guard Livi McKinney ignited the offense with the team’s first seven points, sparking a 10–1 run that forced Hot Springs onto its heels early. Senior forward Charlee Wardlaw then found her rhythm, scoring eight in the first quarter to help the Lady Jacks close the frame with a commanding 24–11 lead.

The early burst was powered by Warren’s relentless pace and defensive pressure—an identity that defined the night. The Lady Jacks forced 14 turnovers and recorded 21 steals, suffocating Hot Springs’ ball movement and generating easy transition buckets.

Miller Takes Over

After a quiet second quarter that saw Warren maintain a 32–20 halftime lead, the Lady Jacks exploded again in the third behind Bayleigh Miller, who caught fire from all areas of the court. She scored 12 points in the quarter, including a momentum-swinging three-pointer and a stretch where she scored seven straight.

Miller finished with a game-high 19 points on 7-of-11 shooting, adding six rebounds and three steals in a dominant two-way effort.

Lady Jack head coach Mary Beth Grant chats with her team during a second half timeout.

Balanced Contributions Across the Floor

While Miller led the scoring, Warren’s victory was built on depth and team chemistry.

  • Charlee Wardlaw contributed 14 points, going 6-of-14 from the field and 2-of-2 from the line.
  • Livi McKinney added 11 points, six steals, and four offensive rebounds, controlling both ends of the floor.
  • Breize Fellows chipped in 8 points with five steals and strong defense on the perimeter.
  • Khourtni Johnson added 6 points on 3-of-5 shooting.
  • Nyla Simmons provided a spark off the bench with 4 points, a block, and aggressive rebounding.

Overall, the Lady Jacks shot 44% from the field, held Hot Springs to just 42%, and controlled the glass 30–5. Despite an off night from long range (1-for-18 from three), Warren compensated with attacking drives and second-chance opportunities fueled by 14 offensive rebounds.

Statement Win to Open the Season

Warren outscored Hot Springs 20–9 in the third quarter and never allowed the Lady Trojans to regain momentum. Even with a sizeable lead, the Lady Jacks maintained their defensive pressure, closing out with a 12-point fourth quarter to seal the 28-point victory.

The dominant performance not only opens the season with confidence but also sets the tone for what could be one of the most promising campaigns in recent memory for the Warren girls program.

The Lady Jacks (1–0) will return to action Tuesday, November 18, when they host Malvern at Lumberjack Arena. Tip-off is scheduled for 5:00 p.m. with junior varsity girls and senior girls matchups.
