Lady Jacks Use Pulaski Academy Test as Building Block for Season Ahead

Bayleigh Miller led the Lady Jacks with 12 points vs Pulaski Academy Saturday

WARREN, Ark. (11-8-25) — The Warren Lady Jacks’ highly anticipated basketball season got unofficially underway Saturday as they hosted the talented, state-contending Pulaski Academy Lady Bruins at Lumberjack Arena for a preseason benefit game. The matchup gave Warren an early opportunity to test its depth and rotations before the regular season tips off next week.

Pulaski Academy built an early lead in the opening quarter, pulling ahead 19–6. Bayleigh Miller led the Lady Jacks in the first period with 5 points and 3 blocks, showing strength around the rim. Livi McKinney added 1 point and 2 rebounds, while Breize Fellows contributed a block and a steal. Khourtni Johnson and Charlee Wardlaw each added a rebound as Warren settled in defensively.

In the second quarter, Warren’s offense began finding rhythm. Brooklyne McVay added 3 points and a rebound, while Fellows scored 2 points with another board. Caroline Harton, Alyssa Calbert, and Wardlaw each pulled down a rebound, and both Johnson and Nyla Simmons came up with steals on the defensive end. Despite the effort, the Lady Jacks trailed 35–11 at halftime.

The third quarter saw Warren’s best offensive stretch of the night. McVay scored 3 more points, Calbert matched her with 3 points, a block, and a rebound, and Fellows added 2 points. Miller again paced the team, adding 7 points, 2 rebounds, and another block. Simmons and Wardlaw each grabbed a rebound, while Johnson collected a steal as Warren put together a strong quarter to make it 49–26 heading into the fourth.

In the final frame, the Lady Jacks continued to compete hard. Fellows scored 3 points, Simmons added 2 points and a rebound, and Wardlaw finished strong with 4 points and 2 rebounds. McVay pulled down 2 rebounds in the closing minutes, while Harton and Johnson each grabbed one.

Pulaski Academy went on to win 61–35, but the scrimmage gave Warren valuable early-season experience and production across its roster.

The Lady Jacks will officially open their regular season Tuesday, November 11, at home against Hot Springs. The night will begin with a seventh-grade girls game at 4 p.m., followed by a junior girls matchup, and then the senior Lady Jacks facing Hot Springs to close out the evening.
