MONTICELLO, Ark. – Hermitage Junior and Senior High chess teams traveled to Monticello on Thursday to compete against several area schools, marking another strong outing for the growing program.
According to the Hermitage School District, students represented the Hermits well throughout the competition, gaining valuable experience on the boards while facing opponents from across Southeast Arkansas.
The district also recognized the work and leadership of chess coach Anne O’Neill, noting how proud they are of both the students and their coach for their dedication to the program.
More details on individual results are expected to be released by the district.
