Lumberjacks Struggle at Home in 56-31 Loss to McGehee

WARREN, Ark. — The Warren Lumberjacks turned in a difficult performance Tuesday night at home, falling 56-31 to a McGehee team that controlled the game from start to finish. Warren struggled to find consistent offense and was unable to slow McGehee’s extended scoring runs, dropping the Lumberjacks to 0-3 on the season.

Warren was held to 31 points on the night and finished 11-of-40 shooting from the field, including 4-of-19 from three-point range. McGehee capitalized on turnovers and defensive breakdowns, using multiple unanswered scoring runs — including stretches of 7, 10, and 15 consecutive points — to steadily build its lead.

Josiah Steen was the clear bright spot for Warren, leading the Lumberjacks with 15 points on 5-of-9 shooting. Steen connected on two three-pointers and showed confidence offensively, particularly early in the second half when he scored five points in the third quarter, including a three-pointer to open the half.

Bleyze Fellows added six points but struggled from the field, finishing 2-of-13 shooting. Jacob Marshall and Aceen Jurado each knocked down a three-pointer, while Colton Steen scored two points and provided effort on the glass.

Warren showed its best stretch late in the game, scoring 10 points in the fourth quarter with improved ball movement, but by that point McGehee had already built a commanding lead. Defensively, Warren was unable to contain McGehee’s inside scoring and allowed the Owls to shoot efficiently throughout the night.

With several underclassmen playing major minutes, the Lumberjacks continue to search for consistency on both ends of the floor. Tuesday’s loss underscored the challenges facing a young Warren team as it works through early-season growing pains.
