Vernar Ray “Boolie” Callum, 80, of Warren, passed away November 21, 2025. Born April 22, 1945, to the late Vernar and Ozie Bea Callum.
Vernar grew up in the Mt. Olive community and attended Hermitage High School in Hermitage, AR. While attending Hermitage school he played basketball and later moved to Pasadena, CA. He worked several jobs at Callum’s Classic Cars Business in Banning, CA., Goodyear and Upland Unified School District, which he retired from and made his big move back to Arkansas.
Vernar a beloved father, family member and friend. He was a man known for his strength, his kindness and the love he carried for the people around him. His passion was working on cars, hunting and just enjoying life.
He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Rose Mary & LaVerne Callum; two brothers, Chester & Henry Callum.
He is survived by his son, Vernon Callum of California; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two sisters, Hester Callum, Lisa Cross; one brother, Wallace Callum; a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral service was held November 30 at Hammons Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Kenny Ridgell officiating. Burial was in Mt. Olive Cemetery, Johnsville, AR. Arrangements by Hammons Funeral Home.
